Hourglass

Key Points:

  • Hourglass shapes have more pronounced and proportionate curves and a clearly defined waist. It's fairly easy to dress an hourglass, but it helps to pay attention to some of these guidelines.

 Best Pants:

  • You can wear almost any style pants, except cigarette or skinny-styles, but the key here is to accentuate your waist.
  • If you are a small hourglass, you could get away with higher waisted pants that are all the rage this season, otherwise stick mostly to low rise styles with defined waistbands.

Best Skirts:

  • You were made for the pencil skirt! if you don't have 'shapely' legs and small ankles, stay away from this style, but if you do, then wear them with pride! the pencil skirt is the original bombshell look for hourglass shapes like Marilyn Monroe and you. When you wear a pencil skirt, though, be sure to tuck in your shirt to accentuate your waist, or add an obi or belt to define it.

Best Dresses:

  • Don't hide your curves. wrap dresses are great for you, strapless are perfect (for the fall, throw on a shrug or wrap) for fitting your bust and smaller waist, and basically anything with a nipped waist and low neck line will work with your figure.

Best Tops:

  • If you have a full bust, look for soft, silky blouses with open necklines and a nipped waist to focus attention on your waist and curves.
  • Almost any top will work for you, but those that highlight your décolletage and smaller shoulders like halter tops are best. You've got the curves, flaunt them!
